Laura Uribe recaps last weekend's 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards

On Sunday night at 8 p.m. the best stars of today's country music scene were all in attendance at the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas' MGM Grand.

Some stars included musicians and actors LeeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian, Matthew McConaughey, Kristen Bell, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

The biggest achievement of the night belonged to the former "American Idol" Carrie Underwood who took home the most prestigious award of the evening, "Entertainer of the Year." Not only was this a high honor, but was even a bigger honor due to it being her second year in a row that she won the same achievement, which is no easy task, as well as the only time a woman has ever won that award two times in a row.

Other winners that evening included Brad Paisley for "Top Male Vocalist" and Miranda Lambert for "Top Female Vocalist." Lambert also took home the prize for "Video of the Year" for her hit-single "White Liar."

"This music is what I do. It's the only thing I live for. Thanks for loving it," said Lambert.

Lady Antebellum, who won a Grammy in February for "Best Country Performance by Duo or Group with Vocals" for the song "I Run To You," scored the "Top Vocal Group" award as well as "Single Record of the Year," for the song "Need You Now."

The biggest surprise however was when Taylor Swift, who has won four Grammy awards, did not take home any awards despite being nominated in five categories, including "Top Female Vocalist."

Despite her losses that evening, she performed her single "Change" for a crowd of adoring fans.

Underwood and Lambert also performed earlier in the show.
