They Do It On a Grill: Ghengis Khan Mongolian BBQ

By Theresa Baughman   Fri, Dec 04, 2009

Food writer Theresa Baughman explores the cuisine of Midland, MI.

These days, one thing on everyone's list is getting the most for their money; eating out is no exception.  A typical sit-down meal for two people can cost upwards of $30 at some restaurants, and I can tell you that more often than not, I end up leaving not fully satisfied.  Seems to me the food is always too bland for my taste, or worse yet, there just isn't enough of it.  All that money and I'm still hungry?  No, thank you.

Enter Ghengis Khan Mongolian BBQ, in Midland.  This all you can eat buffet had a wide variety of meats, veggies, sauces and spices for you to mix and match and create your own delicious masterpiece. Take your time perusing the endless tables of vegetables that hit the spot and choose from over ten different meat selections, including a tofu option.

The process is simple: grab a bowl, choose your meat, add veggies, choose a sauce, and spice it up with some flavor if you're feeling adventurous. Watch the grill masters do their thing as they converse with customers while you wait to enjoy your first bowl. With an all-you-can-eat style salad and soup bar included and rice and tortillas served at the table, even the biggest of appetites is sure to be quenched after a trip to Ghengis Khan. If one bowl isn't enough, the price doesn't go up. Feel free to head back up to the cooking area and test out a different combination as many times as you'd like.

Throw in the full bar and reasonable prices and you got yourself a deal.  Lunch specials for the holidays include two people for $15, all you can eat. Take a break from holiday shopping in Midland and enjoy a satisfying grilled right before your eyes meal from Ghengis Khan Mongolian BBQ.
